Huawei’s Pura 100 Pro Max could use RYYB colour filters across all three rear cameras, a move that may extend the company’s low-light imaging focus to its ultra-wide and telephoto hardware. The claim comes from Weibo tipster SmartPikachu, who also reports that the phone will receive an improved image-stabilization system.

RYYB replaces green pixels in a conventional RGGB sensor filter with yellow ones. Huawei has previously said the arrangement can capture up to around 40% more light, which can help produce brighter, more detailed images in difficult lighting. The leak does not identify the sensors, their resolutions or which camera lenses would receive the RYYB treatment.

The reported stabilization upgrade is similarly short on technical detail. Better stabilization could limit hand shake in still images and video, particularly during longer night exposures and when using a telephoto camera, but it is not yet known whether Huawei would use optical, sensor-shift or another solution.

For context, the Pura 90 Pro Max is said to use a 50-megapixel high-dynamic-range main camera, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera and a second-generation multispectral sensor, without an RYYB array. A triple-RYYB implementation on its successor would therefore represent a broader use of the technology within Huawei’s flagship camera system.

Earlier Pura 100 rumours have also pointed to two 200-megapixel cameras on some models, while the Pro Max has been linked to a dual-layer OLED panel similar in principle to Tandem OLED displays used in Huawei tablets. The Pura 100 series is expected in 2027, but Huawei has not confirmed the lineup, its specifications or launch timing.
