One of Droid-Life’s reliable sources informed them that Motorola Droid will be getting the official Android 2.2 on July 13th. Don’t bet your house on this date, as we know how painful waiting for Froyo can be. Just ask the Nexus One owners…

We must mention some facts that are pointing towards such an update in July: Verizon systems already mentioned July 13th, Droid X comes 2 days after the update, on the 15th and releasing the software would certainly make current Droid 1 users happy and less frustrated about not getting the Droid X.

Another factor pro this update is July 13th being a Tuesday and you might remember that Android 2.1 also debuted on a Tuesday. A couple of days ago, we stumbled upon a Droid Froyo build (FRF84B), so we’re pretty close to the official update.
