QNAP has unveiled the TVS-hx77AX, a three-model ZFS desktop NAS family designed to reduce storage bottlenecks in AI-focused and other data-intensive environments. The systems combine AMD Ryzen 7000 processors, hybrid hard-drive and NVMe U.2 storage, and support for NFS over RDMA, which can reduce CPU overhead and latency when connected systems repeatedly access large datasets.

The NAS units use Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 processors and DDR5 memory expandable to 192GB, with optional ECC support. QNAP positions the hardware for virtualization, containerized applications, 4K video editing and deployments that must feed large datasets to AI servers or workstations.

Each model includes two 10GBASE-T ports and two 2.5GbE connections. A compatible SmartNIC can be installed in one of three PCIe Gen 4 slots to enable 25GbE NFS over RDMA configurations. The PCIe slots can also accept discrete graphics cards for GPU passthrough in virtual machines.

The storage design pairs high-capacity HDDs with PCIe 4.0 NVMe U.2 SSDs, allowing frequently accessed data to reside on flash storage. The systems run QNAP's ZFS-based QuTS hero platform, which provides data self-healing and immutable snapshots intended to help limit the impact of ransomware attacks.

All three TVS-hx77AX models carry a standard five-year warranty. QNAP has not provided pricing or market-by-market availability details in the supplied announcement.
