Micromax debuted a new handset in India today, a model that’s pretty powerful specs-wise and priced below $200. This device is dubbed Micromax Canvas 5 and it brings 3 GB of RAM and a Full HD screen panel.

It costs $183 and integrates a 5.2 inch 1080p screen, an IPS full laminated panel with 2.5D curved glass and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside we find an octa core MediaTek MT6753 processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz, a Mali T720 GPU at 450 MHz and 3 GB of DDR3 RAM, as well as 16 GB of storage. This one is a dual SIM phone with 4G LTE connectivity, a 2900 mAh battery and a 13 megapixel main camera.

The battery is supposed to offer up to 10 hours of talk time, while the main camera uses a Samsung 3M2 sensor and it also brings an LED flash. Upfront there’s a 5 megapixel camera also with an LED flash. Micromax Canvas 5 measures 8.5 mm in thickness and weighs 143 grams. It will be available in Space Gray and Tan Brown.
